यदार्जितं प्राणहरैः परिश्रमैः मृतस्य तद् वै विभजन्ति रिक्थिनः।
कृतं च यद् दुष्कृतमर्थलिप्सया तदैव दोषापहतस्य कौतुकम्॥

The material possessions we have on the earth are taken over by the heirs and others once we die.. But the sin we incur to earn such wealth will have no takers or claimants.
The meaning of the slokam
The material wealth earned and accumulated through efforts that would have caused a lot of challenges even to the life, would be claimed and inherited and divided by relatives and heirs when a person dies.. However, whatever evil deeds or sins that have been committed by the person during his lifetime in his eager pursuit for accumulating money would cling to him ( as his accumulated karma).. How funny it is..
യദാര്‍ജിതം പ്രാണഹരൈഃ പരിശ്രമൈഃ
മൃതസ്യ തദ് വൈ വിഭജന്തി രിക്ഥിനഃ।
കൃതം ച യദ് ദുഷ്കൃതമര്‍ഥലിപ്സയാ
തദൈവ ദോഷാപഹതസ്യ കൌതുകം॥

ഒരു വ്യക്തി മരിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ അയാള്‍ സ്വന്തം ജീവന്‍ നല്‍കി പോലും സമ്പാദിച്ചുവച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പണവും മറ്റു വിലപ്പിടിപ്പുള്ള വസ്തുക്കളും എല്ലാം ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ ഒന്നും ബാക്കി വയ്ക്കാതെ വീതിച്ചെടുക്കും.
പക്ഷെ ആ സ്വത്തുക്കളും വസ്തുവഹകളും നേടിയെടുക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടി അയാള്‍ ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടിയ പാപങ്ങളുടെയും ദുരിതങ്ങളുടെയും ഭാരം അയാള്‍ തന്നെ പരലോകത്തിലും പേറണം. അവയ്ക്ക് ഒരു അവകാശികളും ഉണ്ടാവില്ല.. ഇതൊരു കൌതുകമേറിയ യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം ആണ്.
