निर्गुणॆष्वपि सत्त्वेषु दयां कुर्वन्ति साधवः।
न हि संहरते ज्योत्त्स्नां चन्द्रश्चण्डाल वेश्मनि।।

nirguneshwapi sattweshu dhayaam kurvanthi saadhavah
na hi samharathey jyotsnaam chandraschandaala veshmani
നിര്ഗുണേഷ്വപി സത്ത്വേഷു ദയാം കുര്വന്തി സാധവഃ
ന ഹി സംഹരതേ ജ്യോത്സ്നാം ചന്ദ്രശ്ചണ്ഡാല വേശ്മനി
Noble people exhibit immense mercy even on beings which have nothing of value in them.
The moon does not withdraw its soothing rays when passing above the house of a lowborn (here we have to take the meaning of lowborn as one without any productive capacity and no discrimination on the basis of caste is intended)
