Even without any religious or spiritual theories to rely on, or bhakthi, jnaana or karma yogas, all living beings have to face adversity.. their meadows cannot be green all the time..
Maybe, we are just trying to add theories and pious rules to what we have to face and suffer, fight and survive..
If I am suffering from poverty for whatever reason, be is absence of resources, education, cleverness, enmity of the stronger persons, or the anger of God or Guru as we suppose, the result is the same.. I will have no money sufficient for buying food clothes and other necessities..
We may find some psychological solace by attributing our woes to the wrath of God, Guru, or the act of the enemy so that we can just conceal our own inadequacies.. The right word, is just finding an Alibi..
And every religious ritual arose out of our capacity to console ourselves trying to forget our self-inflicted woes by telling ourselves that the inadequacies arose through the supreme will of some external force..
If such Faith can console us and make us optimistic, is there anything wrong in having such mental shock-absorbers?
after all we see the world through our mind.. faith in god and negation of god are both products of the mind.. Everything outside our mind is perceived only through images created by the mind, using its own tools.. the karmendriyas and jnanendriyas.. ( this karma and jnana has nothing to do with religion)
