ज्ञातीनां वक्तुकामानां कटूनि परुषानि च।
सकोपंपं हृदयं वाचा श्लक्ष्णया शमयेद् बुधः॥
jñātīnāṁ vaktukāmānāṁ kaṭūni paruṣāni ca|
saskopaṁ hṛdayaṁ vācā ślakṣṇayā śamayed budhaḥ||
A wise and sensible person, if he finds that persons who are related to him and are close to his heart are upset for some reason and are disposed to use crude and sharp words to him, should understand their anger and should try to meet such frayed emotions with pleasant and endearing words and should manage with great effort to assuage and nullify such anger and ill feeling
