In response to one of my posts on the necessity for the affluent to share their fortunes with the lesser privileged, I was reminded that people were never content with what they own or possess and in Kaliyugam no one would share anything. Maybe the rejoinder is correct to a certain extent. But I have a different perspective on the issue..
My reply..
It is not the willingness of anyone to follow or not that essentially counts..
In reality, the so-called ownership over any material comes only through social consensus. You think you are the owner of some land or some cash in the bank or your pension or whatever it is just because some sort of law is in operation through social contract.. and normally the majority of people follow the law.
But if some particular groups or individuals assert too much authority and all and try to topple the economic and social equilibrium, the entire system would topple..
Many revolutions. wars, lootings, pillages and many such untoward incidents have happened that way.
You are presuming that the decency and order maintained by the average majority is there forever and the meek average fellow will submit for ever and that there can be exploitation to any extent. You are not appreciating the seriosity of the matter because you ( and I too) have lived in a relatively placid period of history in this country..
It is not your contentment alone that matters, contentment of others too is equally vital for your safety.
If you have money to eat banquets every day all through your life and people around you are starving to death, then your affluence is not going to last long. The starving people will simply take away all that you have.. It has happened too many times in history.
Life is not merely quotations and great sayings. Life is a stark reality..
Please try to see the wisdom contained in the quotes from the great personalities in the past and guidelines and action plans for a safe and practical lifestyle. They are not meant merely for using in archives and quoting in social media posts..
Of course, after one puts to practice something in life and achieves even partial success, then he can share his experiences with others.. Okay he can even preach or give advice.
