We cannot quote scriptures to Satan or Shakuni

In response to a post carrying quote from Mahabharatham which called for avoiding use of harsh words and actions, I received a response that the present day is entirely different from the days of Mahabharatham.. I cannot entirely agree..My response

The world and people are the same today and in the times of Mahabharatam.
There was Vidura, Bheeshma and Krishna Paramatma Himself on one side and Shankuni, Shishupala etc on the other side..
Every epoch in human affairs sees the rise and fall of good and ebbing and flowing of evil too..
We have to remind ourselves of the nice and good things all the time. Simultaneously we have to accept the reality that there is evil on this face of earth.
That is all.

There are different situations.
One may have to use cutting and even killing words, and perform deeds bordering on cruelty when some actions for the welfare and maintenance of public good is at stake.
I was a senior taxman all my life and career.
I have behaved rudely and have taken many unkind decisions.. to further the interests of the State and Revenue.
All administrators and law enforcers do that.
However when great principles are enunciated in scriptures, we have to remember that such rules are meant to work only with reasonably good people.
We cannot quote scriptures to Satan or Shakuni and get away with it.
