उत्तमश्चिन्तितं कुर्यात्प्रोक्तकारी तु मध्यमः ।
अधमोऽश्रद्धया कुर्यादकर्तोच्चरितं पितुः ॥ ९.१८.४४ महासुभाषित संग्रहे
uttamaścintitaṃ kuryātproktakārī tu madhyamaḥ ।
adhamo'śraddhayā kuryādakartoccaritaṃ pituḥ ॥ 9.18.44 mahāsubhāṣita saṃgrahe
The best and worthy son would readily perform actions guessing them rightly even as the thoughts arising in the mind of his father
The average or mediocre sone would do things as he is told or is asked to by the father.
The clumsy and lowly son would obey the directions of his father without much care and diligence.
And the son who refuses to obey his father is not better than the dirt oozing out of the body of the father.

उत्तमः the best and worthy son पितुःof father चिन्तितं what is in the mind कुर्यात् would do प्रोक्तकारी do what is told तु alone मध्यमःmediocre भवति becomes अधमः the worst, the lowly son अश्रद्धया without proper care and concern कुर्यात् would do अकर्ता one who does not act, one who does not obe पितुः fathers उच्चरितं एव excreta alone
ഉത്തമശ്ചിന്തിതം കുര്യാത്പ്രോക്തകാരീ തു മധ്യമഃ ।
അധമോഽശ്രദ്ധയാ കുര്യാദകര്തോച്ചരിതം പിതുഃ ॥ ൯।൧൮।൪൪ മഹാസുഭാഷിത സംഗ്രഹേ
നല്ലവനും കഴിവുള്ളവാനുമായ മകന്, സ്വന്തം പിതാവിന്റെ മനസ്സില് തോന്നുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് പോലും ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ഗ്രഹിച്ചെടുത്ത് അതെല്ലാം കാര്യക്ഷമമായി നിര്വഹിക്കും
ഒരു ശരാശരി കഴിവും ഗുണങ്ങളും മാത്രമുള്ള പുത്രന് പിതാവ് പറയുന്നതും നിര്ദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നതും ഏറെക്കുറെ അനുസരിക്കും
അലസനും കഴിവില്ലാത്തവനുമായ പുത്രന് പിതാവിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളും നിര്ദ്ദേശങ്ങളും ഒട്ടും ശ്രദ്ധയും താല്പര്യവും കാണിക്കാതെ അനുസരിച്ചതായി വരുത്തിത്തീര്ക്കും
എന്നാല് പിതാവിന്റെ നിര്ദ്ദേശങ്ങള് അനുസരിക്കാതെ തന്നിഷ്ടം പോലെ നടക്കുന്ന പുത്രന് പിതാവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തില് നിന്ന് പുറന്തള്ളപ്പെടുന്ന മാലിന്യം പോലെ മാത്രമാണ്.
