मेघश्यामं पीतकौशेयवासं
श्रीवत्साङ्कं कौस्तुभोद्भासिताङ्गम् ।
पुण्योपेतं पुण्डरीकायताक्षं ।
विष्णुं वन्दे सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥
meghaśyāmaṃ pītakauśeyavāsaṃ
śrīvatsāṅkaṃ kaustubhodbhāsitāṅgam ।
puṇyopetaṃ puṇḍarīkāyatākṣaṃ
viṣṇuṃ vande sarvalokaikanātham ॥
I worship Lord Vishnu, the master and protector of the entire universe.
who is having the body shine as dark as the black cloud, who is dressed in bright yellow silk cloth, who is having the birthmark Shreevatsam on his chest, whose brilliant glow is enhanced by the shine of the gem Kausthubha decorating his body, who is the abode of and is over filled with virtue or punyam and is the source of all virtue, who is having a pair of eyes as wide and huge as a pair of fully blown lotuses.
अहं I मेघ श्यामं who is dark like a black cloud पीत कौशेय वासं who is clad in bright yellow silk cloth श्रीवत्साङ्गं who is having the birthmark Shreevatsam on his torso कौस्तुभ उत्भासिताङ्गं whose shine is enhanced by the gem Kaustubha decorating his body पुण्य उपेतं who is full and is overflowing with virtue or punyam पुण्डरीक आयताक्षं who is having a pair of eyes as wide as fully blown lotuses सर्व लोकैक नाथं who is the master and protector of the entire universe विष्णुं वन्दे worship Vishnu
മേഘശ്യാമം പീതകൌശേയവാസം
ശ്രീവത്സാങ്കം കൌസ്തുഭോദ്ഭാസിതാംഗം ।
പുണ്യോപേതം പുണ്ഡരീകായതാക്ഷം
വിഷ്ണും വന്ദേ സര്വലോകൈകനാഥം ॥
പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിന്റെ മുഴുവന് നാഥനും സംരക്ഷകനുമായ ഭഗവാന് വിഷ്ണുവിനെ ഞാന് വന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
അവിടുത്തെ തിരുവുടല് കാര്മേഘം പോലെ കറുത്തിരുണ്ട നിറം കൊണ്ടതാണ്.
അവിടുന്ന് മഞ്ഞപ്പട്ടുടയാട അണിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
ശ്രീവത്സം എന്ന മറുക് അവിടുത്തെ തിരുമാറിനെ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നു. കഴുത്തില് അണിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന അമൂല്യമായ കൌസ്തുഭരത്നം അവിടുത്തെ മേനിയുടെ ശോഭയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
പുണ്യം നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്ന, പുണ്യങ്ങളുടെ ഉറവിടമായ സാന്നിധ്യം ആണ് അവിടുത്തേത്.
വിടര്ന്നു നില്ക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജോഡി താമര മലരുകളെപ്പോലെ അവിടുത്തെ കണ്ണിണകള് തിളങ്ങുന്നു.
