वनकुसुमं कृपणश्रीः

वनकुसुमं कृपणश्रीः कूपच्छाया सुरंगधूली च।

तत्रैव विलयं यान्ति मनोरथाः भाग्यहीनानाम्॥

vanakusumaṁ kṛpaṇaśrīḥ kūpacchāyā suraṁgadhūlī ca|

tatraiva vilayaṁ yānti manorathāḥ bhāgyahīnānām||

Beautiful wild flowers blooming deep inside the forests

Wealth, even if it is immense, held by a stingy person

Shadow of a well

Dust floating inside a dark cave

And the fond desires and dreams of a person who lacks luck

All these just wither away in the places they originate.

(They never live upto the beauty or utility they really deserve)
