A king or noble person should ever engage in concerted action to uphold propriety and justice, Dharma. The wealth, influence and splendour available even for a king is just transient or ever mobile similar to the lightning movements of the tongues of a snake. Therefore the full attention of the ruler should be concentrated for the protection and welfare of the citizens, and they carry their virtues eternally fully knowing that the body they possess is already killed or is expected to perish at any time.
