नार्थार्थं नापि कामार्थं

नार्थार्थं नापि कामार्थं अतो भूतदयां प्रति।

वर्तते यः चिकित्सायां स सर्वमतिवर्तते॥ आचार्य चरक

nārthārthaṁ nāpi kāmārthaṁ ato bhūtadayāṁ prati|

vartate yaḥ cikitsāyāṁ sa sarvamativartate|| ācārya caraka

If a doctor or physician furthers his profession of giving treatment to others, not with an aim to earn money, not to fulfil personal desires or likes, but entirely based on love and compassion for fellow human beings, then he becomes superior to all and he overcomes all challenges in his profession.
