the less we know the better

the less we know the better

That is the dictum of an investigator or a person who just goes after a particular set of facts aiming at clear results in the shortest time-span.. There the capacity to filter through facts without dwelling on frills or minor details..and just go into the heart of the matter.. like the sharp end of an arrow reaching the target, staving off all the trivialities in the path.. is effective, very effective, as a tool of management.. They call it " the needs to know principle".. More than sufficient quantum of knowledge can be a burden to a man of action.. in some cases.. Especially in strategic operations of combative nature just as in warfare, focussed knowledge and even selective ignorance of many details can be very useful. Arjuna was confident of hitting target, a fish in a moving yantram, when he saw the fish all alone. But when though he was equally or more well equipped, when he saw eleven akshouhini's of soldiers arrayed , eleven against him and seven for him in the grand battle of Bharatham, he was really shaken.. This is an instance of how one can be affected or even perplexed by excess ofknowledge
