वृथा वृष्टिः समुद्रेषु वृथा तृप्तेषु भोजनम्
वृथा दानम् धनाढ्येषु वृथा दीपो दिवाऽपि च॥
vṛthā vṛṣṭiḥ samudreṣu vṛthā tṛpteṣu bhojanam
vṛthā dānam danāḍhyeṣu vṛthā dīpo divā'pi ca||
Rainfall over oceans is sheer waste
Trying to feed a person who has eaten his hearts fill is unnecessary.
Heaping gifts on the rich people is just ridiculous and wasteful.
In addition, carrying a lamp in broad daylight would serve no purpose.
Moreover, we can add sensible posts in social media too to the category of futile activities.
