the real temple is our own heart which can spread love and happiness

 

येन केन प्रकारेण यस्य कस्यापि देहिनः।

सन्तोषं जनयेत् प्राज्ञः तदेवेश्वर पूजनम्॥

संयोचितपद्यमालिका

yena kena prakāreṇa yasya kasyāpi dehinaḥ|

santoṣaṁ janayet prājñaḥ tadeveśvara pūjanam||

A man with good sense and sense of purpose should strive for ever to do good and to give happiness to any of the fellow beings in whatever way he could. That is, and that alone is the real worship of the supreme being who is manifest everywhere.

After all worship of God is in reality is just keeping the mind pure and kind, and desisting from harbouring evil thoughts and tendency to harm others.. We the human beings just love creating symbols and ascribing the desirable qualities we should possess on some idols and so we created religions, temples and such institutions.. As time passed, the lofty ideas were superimposed on those symbols and we forgot to imbibe the qualities in our own daily lives as simple human beings.. The real religion is our own lifestyle which is noble, and the real temple is our own heart which can spread love and happiness everywhere.. If we overlook that fact, then religions and temples have little meaning.

യേന കേന പ്രകാരേണ യസ്യ കസ്യാപി ദേഹിനഃ।

സന്തോഷം ജനയേത് പ്രാജ്ഞഃ തദേവേശ്വര പൂജനം॥

സമയോചിത പദ്യമാലികാ

വിവരവും വിവേകവും ജീവിതത്തിൽ ദിശാബോധവും ഉള്ള മനുഷ്യൻ എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ഏതു വിധേനയും സഹജീവികള്‍ക്ക്—അവർ ആരായിരുന്നാലും ശരി – സന്തോഷവും സമാധാനവും നല്‍കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കണം. അതാണ്‌, അത് മാത്രമാണ്, കാണുന്ന ഇടമെല്ലാം വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന സർവശക്തനായ ദൈവത്തിനു അവൻ അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആരാധന.

ഈശ്വരനെ ഭജിക്കുക എന്നത് യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ സ്വന്തം മനസ്സിനെ കളങ്കമില്ലാതെയും കരുണ നിറഞ്ഞതായും എന്നും സൂക്ഷിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. മനുഷ്യർ നന്മയേയും ഉന്നതിയെയും പ്രതീകങ്ങൾ ആയി മാറ്റി അവയെ ആരാധിക്കാൻ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് മഹത്തായ തത്ത്വങ്ങളെ പ്രതിമകളിലും, ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും, മതങ്ങളിലും ആവാഹിച്ചെടുത്ത് അവയെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചത്. പക്ഷെ പലപ്പോഴും ഈ തത്ത്വങ്ങൾ നിത്യജീവിതത്തിൽ പകർത്താൻ നാം മറന്നു. യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ മതം എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് നമ്മുടെ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്ത, കരുണയും സ്നേഹവും നിറഞ്ഞ ജീവിത ചര്യയാണ്.. യഥാർത്ഥ ക്ഷേത്രം നല്ല മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയം അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല. ഈ സത്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്ത ഒരു മതത്തിനും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനും സ്ഥാപനത്തിനും വലിയ പ്രസക്തി ഒന്നുമില്ല.
