I trust we should retain any post which is ostensibly objectionable should be retained, and ordinarily, need not be deleted.
If we see that the retain post the records of even the most heinous crime perpetrated right from the FIR till the order of the Apex court intact even if the accused gets adverse conviction in lower courts and ultimately the Apex court exonerates him.
In Mahabharatham Sisupala berates the Blessed Lord Krishna executes him. However, sages have not expunged from the epic the statements of Sisupala.
Nothing is sacrosanct in life greater than the integrity of thoughts and each person's right to say whatever he says with conviction. The victim can oppose, shout, sulk- okay he can defend himself. However, he cannot demand that what the society or forum should erase or undo the records of the proceedings. This is the fundamental tenet of true liberalism and progressiveness.
We can see out of place and inopportune posts and views everywhere. We may feel uneasy, we may shrink, and we may feel that we must launch an assault against the dissenting views. But in a liberal society, any handle, be it social media, or any open media or forum should definitely be a part and parcel of that and we have to face any open assault or attack in the course of a fight and we may win or get defeated retaining our honour and dignity.
Shadow fighting is the greater bane. People praise you on the face and damage you or stab you from behind often. That fight is unfair.
The right of expression permits one to say great things and it also permits him to state idiotic or nonsensical things.
True, in any State, even in a liberal State, there are laws against libel.
