We can easily find that people around us fit into three categories.
People who helped us, loved us, and sacrificed for us, people who could have existed without us but we could not have survived and thrived without their help.
Our parents, elders, bosses, employers, Gods, books, teachers and so on.
They are under no obligation to act nice with us.
However, we have to respect them, we have to love them, and we have the duty to be of service to them.
We have to serve them even if they are not friendly, even if they are rude to us.
That is Divine Rule.
Then the second type of people, who drew heavily on our resources, who thrived at least partially on our help, and so on.
It is not wrong to expect some sort of acceptance and even warmth from such persons.
Nevertheless, it is always better not to expect.
It is always better to dismiss our services as just service to God and our elders who brightened our lives.
If we do not expect we need not face disappointment too.
In addition, of course there is the final category, who mean very little to us.
However, they flock around us on celebrations, just exchange pleasantries. Arms length transaction (I do not mean the legal and accountancy term-there it is a big factor in international trade) is the best way to deal with them..
Our contacts, friends, and voluntary gurus and pretending well-wishers in social media would eminently fit into this third category.
Then actually, we ignore the first category, we cringe and beg with the second category, and we celebrate with the third type of people.
What a pity..!
