We acquire nasty habits and nastier behaviour so naturally, without any training or practice.
Selfishness, jealousy and feeling of unreasonable superiority over others and intolerance, all these traits take control of us very early in our growth. They sprout, grow and take roots, spread, and flower and give fruits and seed without any watering or nourishment.
But it takes a lot of training and discipline to build up a nice character, nice and reasonable behaviour and it is even more difficult to develop good habits.
Moreover, we are all the time prodded by our own impish nature to give up all that is good and assume the dirty and ugly face that is so natural to us.
Even a good and tolerable lifestyle is very difficult to acquire - it is a fight-it is a challenge.
In addition, human nature appears to prefer zeroing in on the path of least resistance.
Even monkeys are naughty and unruly with some method and without much rancour.
However, we are worse.
