We should study history too, as anything else as an activity in purusuit of truth.

Moreover, history should be just a guide, and we cannot treat as equal to social or moral law.
Adding a little salt or a little pepper to flour or vegetables can make good food.
Nevertheless, we should not expect to cook good food by adding some vegetable or flour to vessels filled with salt or pepper.
