माता मित्रं पिता चेति स्वभावात् त्रितयं हितं।
कार्यकारणतश्चान्ये भवन्ति हितबुद्धयः।

mātā mitraṁ pitā ceti svabhāvāt tritayaṁ hitaṁ|
kāryakāraṇataścānye bhavanti hitabuddhayaḥ|

A very thought provoking quote from the classic Hitopadesham.
The three persons, our mother, father and a true friend would be concerned about our welfare-and the concern arises so naturally and without any selfish interest.
Others would show interest and concern for us according to what they would get back, according to what benefit that would arise to them .
There can be no doubt about the attitude of father and mother.
Of course we should be very lucky to have friends of the class mentioned in this slokam. A Krishna for an Arjuna or Kuchela-Indeed rare.
The attitude of others are understandable. No one need be blamed.
