प्रातः स्मरामि शरदिन्दु करोज्ज्वलाभां
सद् रत्न शोभि वर कुण्डल हारशोभाम्।
दिव्यायुधोर्जित सुनील सहस्रहस्तां
रक्तोत्पलाभ चरणां भवतीं परेशीम्॥
prātaḥ smarāmi śaradindu karojjvalābhāṁ
sad ratna śobhi vara kuṇḍala hāraśobhām|
divyāyudhorjita sunīla sahasrahastāṁ
raktotpalābha caraṇāṁ bhavatīṁ paraeśīm||
I meditate on that supreme Goddess Mother Chandi
Who is shining in perfect white splendour like the rays of the autumn moon,
Who is adorned attractively with eardrops studded with worthy and shining gems and matching necklaces
Who is having thousand arms each holding heavenly weapons
And
Whose feet are radiating the bright red colour like that of the utpala flower.
(Utpala flower is a variant of water lily- found in white, blue, dark blue, red and similar colours. Sometimes the word is used as equivalent to ordinary lotus too)
