No story or tale is new.
Most of the tales and parables are as old as human race itself .
At best cosmetic changes in venues or characters can be made
We have progressed little from the days of Mahabharatham and Kathasaritsagaram in that respect.
Panchatantra Arabian Nights Grimm, Anderson and plethora of vernacular authors all just retold what was there in the earlier classics .
Language and craft might have varied.
That is all.
It is just like cooking food.
The skeletal recipe is inherited
The raw grain or vegetable has no particular taste.
The salt we add taste terrible if we eat it straight.
But these materials when combined in the right manner can become treat to the palate.
And when the right combination and processing is not adopted the result can be highly depressing.
