After all, we have done all the damage that is possible to the nobility of our traditional wisdom by interpreting things out of context.
It is nice to present alternate interpretations too, but that is just for seeing and laughing and not for serious consumption.
They say you can fulfil two purposes by eating neyyappam.. a cake made of rice flour, jaggery and ghee..
First, you can be relieved of your hunger with a treat to your taste buds.
Second, you can stiffen your moustache using the ghee that would be sticking to your hand
But if this idea is interpreted saying that the purpose of making neyyappam is to stiffen your moustache and that neyyappam should be eaten only after stiffening your moustache and incidentally no one without a moustache should ever eat neyyppam then things get funny..
After all anything can be interpreted in any way you want.
We miss the wood for the tree-too often..
