spend lives with more of laughter and tolerance than rat race and silly comparison.

Animals and other living beings except us humans spend their lives so naturally, adapting themselves to situation according to the exigencies of time, space, availability of resources etc.
Moreover, they just germinate, grow, decline and perish without much ado.
We human beings, supposedly of superior wisdom and faculties often compare, substitute ourselves for God, try to do His work, and ultimately do not succeed.
I think the realization would come when we stop identifying ourselves with our shirts, hair, family, bank balance and so on.
The "uppish" feeling comes at the stage when we find pleasure is attempting to measure and even attempt to assert our superiority over others by applying material standards.
However, as we grow old, and find that money, status etc., are of lesser priority when our six feet under the soil is booked, and then we may have greater satisfaction if we can look back and realize that we have spent our lives with more of laughter and tolerance than rat race and silly comparison.
