utiliti is the yardstick for marketability

We can gauge the value and respectability of a person in society by his own marketable qualities. We can view a person as useful only if his talents or capabilities are worthy for some selected groups or the society in general. An elephant, (which has use in war of the old, in various heavy duties even otherwise) fetches thousand gold coin in the open market. However, the powerful lion, if it we display it for sale would not fetch any value in return. If at all the beast has any value, it is of destructive or nuisance value. No one would go near it.
