knowledge sweetened by humiliy

विद्याविनयोपेता हरति न चेतांसि कस्य मनुजस्य।
मणिकाञ्चनसंयोगो जनयति लोकस्य लोचनानन्दम्॥
हरिहरसुभाषितम्॥

vidyāvinayopetā harati na cetāṁsi kasya manujasya|
maṇikāñcanasaṁyogo janayati lokasya locanānandam||
hariharasubhāṣitam||

A great text on Subhashitams reveals this worthy idea.

Those who have abundance in knowledge and also possess the quality of humility, indeed steal the hearts of all people. Is there any doubt about it?
When the jeweller creates an ornament of pure gold and decorates it with an attractive gem, the joy such combination would generate is indeed pleasing to the eyes.
All people give a lot of respect to a person with great education and knowledge.
However, if, in addition, that person possesses the quality of being humble, he will be the cynosure of the eyes of all.
A gem by itself is very precious, and attractive. If one makes an ornament with gold and fixes the gem in it, the capacity of the gem to endear all hearts increases manifold.
Yes, humility with erudition is a superb combination. Nevertheless, that rarely happens.
