पृथिवी रत्नसंपूर्णा हिरण्यं पशवः स्त्रियः।

नालमेकस्य तत्सर्वं इति मत्वा शमं व्रजेत्॥

महाभारते आदिपर्वे ७५-५१

pṛthivī ratnasaṁpūrṇā hiraṇyaṁ paśavaḥ striyaḥ|

nālamekasya tatsarvaṁ iti matvā śamaṁ vrajet||

mahābhārate ādiparve 75-51

The earth is rich in precious gems. There are huge deposits of Gold and great treasures of gold are found accumulate. The landscape abounds in cattle. There are innumerable attractive damsels. True, but everyone should be conscious that all this abundance is not meant exclusively for any one single person. Everyone should understand this fact and should exercise restraint and should be realistic in his passions

रत्न gemsसंपूर्णा filled with पृथिवी the earth हिरण्यं gold पशवः cattle स्त्रियः women folk तत् they सर्वं all एकस्य of one person न not अलं meant fore इति thus मत्वा considering शमं equanimity व्रजेत् should attain

പൃഥിവീ രത്നസംപൂര്‍ണാ ഹിരണ്യം പശവഃ സ്ത്രിയഃ।

നാലമേകസ്യ തത്സര്‍വം ഇതി മത്വാ ശമം വ്രജേത്॥

ഭൂമുഖത്ത് പലയിടത്തുമായി എണ്ണമറ്റ രത്നങ്ങള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു. ഒരുപാട് സ്വര്‍ണ്ണം അവിടെയുണ്ട് പിന്നെ ധാരാളം സ്വര്‍ണ്ണ ശേഖരങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. എണ്ണിയാല്‍ ഒടുങ്ങാത്ത കന്നുകാലികളും ഇവിടെ കാണാം. പിന്നെ സുന്ദരികളായ ഒരുപാട് സ്ത്രീ രത്നങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട് . പക്ഷെ ഒരാളും ഈ കാണുന്ന സമൃദ്ധിയും സമ്പന്നതയും എല്ലാം തനിക്കു മാത്രം ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് അനുഭവിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി ഉള്ളവ ആണെന്ന ചിന്ത വച്ച് പുലര്‍ത്തരുത്. പകര്‍ന്നും പങ്കിട്ടും അനുഭവിക്കണം എന്ന ചിന്തയോടെ ഓരോരുത്തനും ആക്രാന്തം വെടിഞ്ഞു ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണം പുലര്‍ത്തണം . ആശകള്‍ക്ക് കടിഞ്ഞാണ്‍ ഇടണം.
