प्रावृण्मेघस्य मालिन्ये दोषः को भूरिवर्षिणः।
शारदाभ्रस्य शुभ्रत्वं वद कुत्रोपयुज्यते॥
सूक्तिरत्नहार व्यास
prāvṛṇmeghasya mālinye doṣaḥ ko bhūrivarṣiṇaḥ|
śāradābhrasya śubhratvaṁ vada kutropayujyate||

The clouds appearing in the rainy season look rather dirty or unclean but pour down water and bless the earth and its occupants with source of life. Therefore no one would notice the dark appearance of the cloud nor would anyone ever find fault with such dirty looks.
However, the clouds appearing in the clear sky of autumn are spotlessly white and bright. However no one would appreciate that cleanliness and bright looks much because, those clouds are of no use to anyone.
This is from Vyasa Subhashitam.. The poet tries to underline the fact more than the physical beauty, the relevance of a person lies in the way he becomes useful to one and all.

മഴക്കാലത്ത് ആകാശത്തില് ഇരുണ്ടുകൂടുന്ന മേഘങ്ങള് നിറം കൊണ്ടും ഭാവം കൊണ്ടും അഴുക്കു നിരഞ്ഞവയായി തോന്നാം. പക്ഷെ അവ ധാരാളം ജലം പൊഴിച്ചു ഭൂമിയില് ജീവന് നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നു. ആ മേഘങ്ങളുടെ ഭംഗിക്കുറവ് ആരും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാറില്ല. അവ നമുക്ക് നല്കുന്ന അനുഗ്രഹം മാത്രമേ നമ്മുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില് പെടുകയുള്ളൂ.
അതേസമയം വേനല്ക്കാലത്ത് തെളിഞ്ഞു നില്ക്കുന്ന ആകാശത്തില് പാല് പോലെ വെളുത്ത സൌന്ദര്യം നിറഞ്ഞ മേഘങ്ങള് പാറി നടക്കാറുണ്ട്. ഈ മേഘങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് ആര്ക്കും ഒരു പ്രയോജനവും ഇല്ല. ഒരിക്കലും അവ മഴയായി മാറില്ല. ആരും അവയെക്കുറിച്ച് വലുതായൊന്നും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാരും ഇല്ല.
വ്യാസ സുഭാഷിതത്തില് നിന്ന്. ഒരാളുടെ ശാരീരികമായ ഭംഗിയെക്കാള് അയാളെക്കൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാവുന്ന നന്മകള് ആണ് അയാളുടെ പ്രാധാന്യം നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന കാര്യം കവി അടിവരയിട്ടു സൂചിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്.
