यत्क्रोधनो यजते यद्ददाति यद्वा तपस्तप्यति यज्जुहोति।
वैवस्वतस्तद्धरतेऽस्य सर्वं श्रमो भवति हि क्रोधनस्य॥
हंसगेतायां ॥
yatkrodhano yajate yaddadāti yadvā tapastapyati yajjuhoti|
vaivasvatastaddharate'sya sarvaṁ śramo bhavati hi krodhanasya||
haṁsageetāyaam||
The benefits of all the good work meticulously performed by a person, all the virtues he has built ups through many pious acts and solemn rituals, the goodwill he has built up through helping fellow human beings through gifts and other assistance, the benefits accruing to him through long periods of intense penance, the glorious outcome of repeated oblations to fire-- If the one who performs all these acts of intense austerities falls prey to intense rage.. all the benefits built up or accumulated would be snatched away by Vaivasvatha, the son of Sun, the God of death
The angry man would be left with exhaustion and disappointment alone.
If a person is slave to anger, all other benefits that accrues to him would be brought to nought. What rage would give us is death alone.
क्रोधनः a person who is angry, a person who is in the habit of running into rages यत् करोति what he does, यत् दधाति what he offers his fellow beings by way of gifts or other assistance यत् यजते what he performs as yajnas and rituals यत् तपः तप्यति what he performs with great intensity as penance यत् जुहोति what he offers as oblations to fire वा too तत् सर्वं all that entirely वैवस्वतः the God of death, the son of the Sun , Yama हरति robs away क्रोधनस्य for the angry person श्रमं हि भवति only the exhaustion and difficulties remain
യത്ക്രോധനോ യജതേ യദ്ദദാതി യദ്വാ തപസ്തപ്യതി യജ്ജുഹോതി।
വൈവസ്വതസ്തദ്ധരതേഽസ്യ സര്വഅം ശ്രമോ ഭവതി ഹി ക്രോധനസ്യ॥

ക്രോധം കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ മറന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്, ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല ഫലങ്ങളും, സഹജീവികള്ക്ക് അയാള് ദാനമായും മറ്റു വിധത്തിലും ചെയ്യുന്ന സഹായങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാവുന്ന നന്മ, അയാള് ചെയ്യുന്ന യജ്ഞങ്ങളും പുണ്യകര്മ്മങ്ങളും മൂലം ഉണ്ടാകാവുന്ന മെച്ചങ്ങളും, ഏറെ പരിശ്രമിച്ചു ചെയ്യുന്ന തപസ്സിന്റെ ഗുണഫലങ്ങളും അഗ്നിയില് ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ നിരന്തരം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഹോമങ്ങളുടെയും ആഹൂതികളുടെയും നേട്ടങ്ങളും എല്ലാം സൂര്യന്റെ മകനും മരണത്തിന്റെ ദേവനും ആയ വൈവസ്വതന് എന്ന പേരുള്ള യമന് കവര്ന്നെടുക്കുന്നു. വളരെയധികം പരിശ്രമിച്ച ദേഷ്യക്കാരന് ബാകി നില്ക്കുന്നത് തന്റെ പരിശ്രമങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടുണ്ടായ ക്ഷീണം മാത്രം.
ജീവിതത്തില് വളരെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടും ഏറെ പരിശ്രമിച്ചും പടുത്തുയര്ത്തിയ എല്ലാ നന്മകളും സൌകര്യങ്ങളും ക്രോധം മൂലം ഇല്ലാതാവും എന്നും ക്രോധം നമുക്ക് നല്കുന്നത് മരണം മാത്രം ആയിരിക്കും എന്നും ഓര്ക്കാം.
