ऐश्वर्य तिमिरं चक्षुः पश्यन्नपि न पश्यति।
पश्चात् विमलतां याति दारिद्र्यगुलिकाञ्जनैः॥
व्यास सुभाषिते ३५
aiśvarya timiraṁ cakṣuḥ paśyannapi na paśyati|
paścāt vimalatāṁ yāti dāridryaglikāñjanaiḥ||

When a person’s eyes are affected by the cataract or opacity of excessive pride on having great affluence, his vision is affected and he fails to see things properly. However, later when the medicinal collyrium and pills in the form of poverty is applied to the eyes, they become clear and the person starts to see and understand things properly.
ऐश्वर्य तिमिरं rendered opaque by affluence, afflicted by the cataract of affluence चक्षुः eyes पश्यन् seeing अपि न पश्यति too does not seeतत् पश्चात् after that दारिद्र्य poverty गुलिका अन्जनैः pills and medicinal collyrium applications विमलतां clarity याति attains
ഐശ്വര്യ തിമിരം ചക്ഷുഃ പശ്യന്നപി ന പശ്യതി।
പശ്ചാത് വിമലതാം യാതി ദാരിദ്ര്യഗുലികാഞ്ജനൈഃ॥

സമ്പന്നത, പണക്കൊഴുപ്പ് എന്ന തിമിരം കണ്ണുകളെ ബാധിച്ച ആള് അത്തരം കണ്ണുകള് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കാണുന്നതൊന്നും ശരിക്കും ഉള്ള കാഴ്ചകള് അല്ല. അഹങ്കാരം ബാധിച്ച അയാള് എല്ലാ വസ്തുക്കളെയും അവജ്ഞയോടെ കാണുന്നു. പക്ഷെ പിന്നീട് ദാരിദ്ര്യം എന്ന അഞ്ജനക്കൂട്ടും ഗുളികകളും എല്ലാം കൊണ്ട് അതെ കണ്ണുകളെ ചികിത്സിക്കുമ്പോള് അയാളുടെ കാഴ്ച വീണ്ടും തെളിഞ്ഞു വരും. അതായത് പണത്തിമിര്പ്പ് നീങ്ങി കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകള് നേരിടുമ്പോള് ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ യാഥാര്ഥ്യം ശരിക്കും ഒരാള്ക്ക് മനസ്സിലായിക്കൊള്ളും
