अवमानारणिमथितं दुर्वागिन्धनविवर्धितज्वालम्।
सत्पुरुषाः कोपाग्निं ज्ञानाम्बुघटैः प्रशमयन्ति॥ ११॥
नीतिद्विषष्टिका
avamānāraṇimathitaṃ durvāgindhanavivardhitajvālam।
satpuruṣāḥ kopāgniṃ jñānāmbughaṭaiḥ praśamayanti॥ 11॥
nītidviṣaṣṭikā
Noble men extinguish the raging fire of anger generated from the flint logs in the action of others exhibiting neglect and disrespect to them, the fire which is further enhanced by adding of fuel in the shape of nasty words being hurled at them, by pouring water in potfuls in the shape of the deep knowledge and enlightenment within them.
A person would get angry when he is insulted or neglected. This anger gets further fuelled when bad words too are used. However, the man with discretion would douse such rage by exercising self-control applying the knowledge and education he has acquired.

അവമാനാരണിമഥിതം ദുര്വാഗിന്ധനവിവര്ധിതജ്വാലം।
സത്പുരുഷാഃ കോപാഗ്നിം ജ്ഞാനാംബുഘടൈഃ പ്രശമയന്തി॥ ൧൧॥

അവഗണനയും അപമാനവും എന്ന അരണിയില് ഉണ്ടാവുന്ന ഉരസലില് നിന്ന് ഉടലെടുത്ത വൃത്തികെട്ട വാക്കുകള് എന്ന ഇന്ധനം മൂലം തീവ്രജ്വാലയോടെ കത്തിപ്പടരുന്ന കോപം എന്ന അഗ്നിയെ വിവരവും വിവേകവും ഉള്ള സജ്ജനങ്ങള് സ്വന്തം അറിവിന്റെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും രൂപത്തില് ഉള്ള ജലം നിറച്ച കുടങ്ങളില് നിന്ന് എന്നപോലെ കോരിയൊഴിച്ച് വേഗത്തില് കെടുത്തുന്നു.
അവഗണയും അവമാനവും ഒരാളെ കുപിതനാക്കുന്നു. അയാള്ക്കെതിരെ ചീത്ത വാക്കുകള് പ്രയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോള് ആ കോപം കത്തിജ്വളിക്കുന്നു. വിവരവും വിവേകവും ഉള്ള മനുഷ്യന് അങ്ങിനെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിപോലുള്ള കോപത്തെ സ്വന്തം അറിവും വിവേകവും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് സ്വയം നിയന്ത്രിച്ച് വേഗത്തില് ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
