All ideas have good points and bad points..

Any matter is simple only if one does not get caught in the straightjackets of either tradition or ultramodernity or for that matter any "isms"..
All ideas have good points and bad points..
We can just tap the good and live on..
" The swan just swallows the milky part alone from the milk diluted with water.".. this is quote from kalidasa...
who also said.
.".everything in puranas need not be correct and practical , and every idea which is new need not be rejected just because it is new.".
Here in many discussions a balanced path appear to be the casualty..
We can interpret things in the light of Scriptures.. and we have to follow rules there while engaging ourselves in such interpretation..
That does not mean the interpreter believes and follows those ideas.
This will be true for all other views also..
A professor of political science who is a follower of Marx, may have to deliver a lecture on Machiavelli to his class..
He cannot mix marxism with the enlightened self-interest there..
But by teaching about the ideas of Machiavelli or Adam Smith the professor does not become a capitalist..
Outside the class he can be a Marxist today and anything tomorrow..
The contributers here get swayed by their personal prejudices and are not able to view the issue from the angle of history, traditions, modern practices and also utility..
The conclusions can be different, but each phase of argument is separate.. and tendency to guillotine or shout down the concepts just out of prejudice is not the righ way to argue..
Even a novice lawyer will parade his facts with logic even when he knows that he is arguing a losing case..
But then social media is after all, social media..
