one has to draw the limiting lines properly

All our woes spring from our incapability to draw the line at the proper place.

For example, it is our common experience to have some itch on the skin (not permanent sores or wounds. They are different and most of us having them too).

We tend to scratch that part of the body with our fingernails.

In fact, as the scratching progresses, we enjoy a ticklish jolly sensation at first. That makes us scratch deep. Moreover, the pleasure intensifies.

Then the skin get punctures and in no time we could be bleeding and would be in pain.

Here we cannot blame the itching, or the nail or the skin. The mind that prompted to do the scratching forgot itself when it started enjoying the movement of the fingernail over the skin.

The mind failed to sense the dividing line between pleasure and pain precisely.

I just cited a situation, which you may call silly, and even unbecoming to cite as an example by a normally sensible fellow.

Then no one can deny the fact that one has to draw the limiting lines properly.
