योऽत्ति यस्य यदा मांसमुभयो पश्यान्तरम्।

एकस्य क्षणिकी प्रीतिरन्यः प्राणैर्विमुच्यते॥

इन्दिश्चे स्प्रुचे ५५९२ २५३२ हितोपदेशे

yo'tti yasya yadā māṁsamubhayo paśyāntaram|

ekasya kṣaṇikī prītiranyaḥ prāṇairvimucyate||

Please understand and be sensitive about the difference in experience between two persons when a person eats the meat or flesh of another living being. The one who consumes the meat enjoys, derives immediate and perhaps temporaray gastronomical satisfaction. However, the other, the victim whose flesh has become the dinner, is divested of his very life for ever.

यदा as and when यः one यस्य of a being मांसं meat, flesh अत्ति eats तदा the उभयोः of the two अन्तरं difference पश्य see

एकस्य for one क्षणिकी immediate, and temporary प्रीतिः happiness भवति happens परन्तु on the other hand अन्यः another being प्राणैः विमुच्यते is permanently divested of its life
