आत्मानमाख्याति हि कर्मभिर्नरः सुशीलचारित्रकुलैः शुभाशुभैः।
प्रनष्टमप्याशु कुलं तथा नरः पुनः प्रकाशं कुरुते स्वकर्मतः
इन्दिश्चे स्प्रूचे ३६९८ महाभारते
ātmānamākhyāti hi karmabhirnaraḥ suśīlacāritrakulaiḥ śubhāśubhaiḥ|
pranaṣṭamapyāśu kulaṁ tathā naraḥ punaḥ prakāśaṁ kurute svakarmataḥ
indiśce sprūce 3698 mahābhārate
Through character, conduct and as a result of thorough upbringings in a good family, a man becomes trained and used to his actions and activities, and through his actions he reveals his own qualities and the class of his lineage. The activities may involve auspicious or inauspicious acts or deeds. The exemplary character, conduct and class would be manifest in all his actions.
Even if the name and fame of a clan are lost for some unfortunate reasons, the man strives and succeeds in redeeming and brighteneing the name and fame of his lineage through his own meritorious actions.
नरः man सुशील good character चारित्र good conduct ,behaviour, कुलैः lineage, birth in family शुभाशुभैः auspicious and evil स्वकर्मभिः by own actions आत्मानं himselfआख्याति declared, reveals aloud यद्यपि even if कुलं the name and fame of the clan or lineage प्रनष्टं is on the wane or is lostनरः man पुनः again आशु soon, स्वकर्मतः through own activities of merit प्रकाशं कुरुते recreates the fame, makes shine
ആത്മാനമാഖ്യാതി ഹി കര്മഭിര്നരഃ സുശീലചാരിത്രകുലൈഃ ശുഭാശുഭൈഃ।
പ്രനഷ്ടമപ്യാശു കുലം തഥാ നരഃ പുനഃ പ്രകാശം കുരുതേ സ്വകര്മതഃ,,
ഇന്ദിശ്ചേ സ്പ്രൂചേ ൩൬൯൮ മഹാഭാരതേ
ഒരാളുടെ സ്വഭാവവും പെരുമാറ്റവും തറവാടിത്തവും കൊണ്ട് അയാള് തന്റെ ജീവിതരീതിയും ചര്യകളും രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയെടുക്കുന്നു. അയാളുടെ സ്വഭാവവും പ്രവൃത്തികളും അയാളുടെ തരവും നിലയും വിലയും എല്ലാം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന തരത്തില് ഉള്ളവ ആയിരിക്കും. അയാള് ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള് ശുഭോദര്ക്കങ്ങള് ആയാലും അത്രയൊന്നും ശുഭ പര്യവസായികള് അല്ലാത്തവ ആയാലും എല്ലാ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിലും അയാളുടെ സ്വഭാവഗുണവും ചാരിത്ര ശുദ്ധിയും കുലമഹിമയും തെളിഞ്ഞു കാണും.
ഏതെങ്കിലും ദൌര്ഭാഗ്യം മൂലം ഒരാളുടെ കുലമഹിമയും സല്പ്പേരും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു പോയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് പോലും തറവാടിയായ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് സ്വന്തം പ്രവൃത്തികള് കൊണ്ട് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ആ പ്രതാപം തിരിച്ചെടുക്കാന് ശ്രമിക്കുകയും അതില് വിജയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
