kith and kin exist and grow only through mutual dependence and by supporting one another.

अन्योन्य समुपष्टंभात् अन्योन्योपाश्रयेण च।

ज्ञातयः सम्प्रवर्द्धन्ते सरसीवोत्पलान्युतः॥

महाभारते॥

anyonya samupaṣṭaṁbhāt anyonyopāśrayeṇa ca|

jñātayaḥ sampravarddhante sarasīvotpalānyutaḥ||

mahābhārate||

Friends and relatives, kith and kin exist and grow through and only through mutual dependence and by directly or indirectly supporting one another. This is just like water flowers like black lilies growing and blooming in profusion on water surfaces by sharing roots and space without demur and accommodating all forthcoming blooms.
