social media

In any system, almost ninety percent of the constituents just move on without much thinking.

Only a small portion of the rest, who have somewhat receptive minds, and some capacity to think, finally control the thought process of the total mass of people.

Many participnts in social media, freshers and peripheral players, are excited when their pictures, or the small posts or likes, are seen by a lot of people, when they get some kudos even for very small things..

However, as time goes on, the peripheral players either become active participants with greater application of mind and adherence to some cause right or wrong, or they just get consigned to the dustbin of obscurity or alternately they simply sign off..

I have been active in socialmedia since 1998 or so but was more active in platforms like Orkut .I have passed through the fresher phase decades ago and my existence here is highly detached..

I never get excited just by getting likes to a personal picture, or a post.I get excited or irritated only when my values are challenged or when people just put on masks of hollowness and of false pretensions..I was aggressive to the point of violence about such things at one stage, but now I can keep quiet now even on such issues.I do not subscribe to the idea that social media is just for fun.. In the end, the social conglomerate will have an impact in shaping the characters and values of discerning members, provided the platforms live on for long enough periods.
