संपूर्णकुंभो न करोति शब्दं अर्धो घटो घोषमुपैति नूनम्।
विद्वान् कुलीनो न करोति गर्वं गुणैर्विहीनाः बहु जल्पयन्ति॥
॥सुभाषितम्॥
saṁpūrṇakuṁbho na karoti śabdaṁ ardho ghaṭo ghoṣamupaiti nūnam|
vidvān kulīno na karoti garvaṁ guṇairvihīnāḥ bahu jalpayanti||

A pot or pitcher filled to the brim would make no noise. However, when the pot or picher is full only to half its volume, the liquid content splashes here and there and we can hear a lot of noise.
Likewise, a learned person who is noble too never exhibits arrogance about his knowledge and for that matter, is humble always, but a person devoid of much of good qualities goes on prattling
