we men have defined God generally as an entity which could perform or do things far beyond the capacity of the human beings

Omniscience, omnipotence etc..

God is created or defined by man that way..

Of course, by democratic process or whatever other ways of consensus, we can try to have the definition amended.. to bring God nearer to the attributes of humans..

That is the only way one can attain Godhood..

God as of now, is an icon.. a definition of something which can go only by rough estimation and an entity which is impossible to emulate...

and

usually when we shatter icons, we lose much more than the icon and we may lose many things including ourselves..

So average men like me just follow traditions..

Some venture to become iconoclasts and mostly invite damage to them and others too..

The wise people, just watch and smile..

True, many situations arise in the life of a humanity when icons have to be shattered.. but those are conditions of revolution..

revolution is the exception and not the rule..
