Usage of Words like playing role properly are too complicated.
You might define a role according to your perception.
But the other person may think differently.
Any action or playing a role has two dimensions.
The one who plays the role and the target person or the target group.
If there is some agreeable meeting point between the two peace will prevail. If not there will be conflict.
But conflict does not mean either of the two or both are wrong. Nor does it prove that anyone is right in absolute terms
Life just goes ahead on the basis of accommodations and checks and balances
