यो हि कालो व्यतिक्रामेत्पुरुषं कालकाङ्क्षिणम्।
दुर्लभः स पुनस्तेन कालः कर्मचिकीर्षुना॥
इन्दिश्चे स्प्रुचे २५६८ महाभारते पञ्चतन्त्रे
yo hi kālo vyatikrāmetpuruṣaṁ kālakāṅkṣiṇam|
durlabhaḥ sa punastena kālaḥ karmacikīrṣunā||

When a man is waiting for the time and opportunity for something to materialize and happens to miss the right moment, mostly it would be indeed very difficult for him to recapture the lost opportunity and act. Lost opportunity is virtually lost for ever.
