दुष्कुलीनः कुलीनो वा मर्यादां यो न लङ्घयेत्।
धर्मापेक्षो मुहुर्ह्रीमान्स कुलीनशताद्वरः॥
इन्दिश्चे स्प्रूचे ४२०१ महाभारते
duṣkulīnaḥ kulīno vā maryādāṁ yo na laṅghayet|
dharmāpekṣo muhurhrīmānsa kulīnaśatādvaraḥ||
indiśce sprūce 4201 mahābhārate
A person may not have the privilege of being born in a noble family. Maybe his clan is treated as even inferior. But if he is steadfast in not crossing the limits of propriety and decency in his transactions, if he is meticulous in adhering faithfully to the law and order, if he is ever humble, down to earth and gentle, then he has to be treated as a better person that hundred persons of noble birth put together
( Here it is implied that many persons of noble birth might to conform to the standards of decent behaviour. Also a person of sterling qualities should not be treated with prejudice just because his lineage is not of great nobility.)

दुष्कुलीनः who has no claims for birthe in a noble family, of origin in a not so established clan कुलीनः of noble origin, of noble family वा भवतु,let it be यः who मर्यादां न लङ्घयेत् never transgresses the limits of decency and propriety यः धर्मपक्षः वर्तते who remains ever faithful to the law and order मुहुः ever ह्रीमान् humble and gentle च वर्तते remains सःhe कुलीन शताद् hundred men of noble birth वरः better इति माननीयः is to be considered
