लसद्दन्तकाण्डं विपद्भङ्गचण्डं शिवप्रेमपिण्डं भजेवक्रतुण्डम्॥
galaddānagaṇḍaṁ miladbhṛṅgakhaṇḍaṁ calaccāruśuṇḍaṁjagattrāṇaśauṇḍam|
lasaddantakāṇḍaṁ vipadbhaṅgacaṇḍaṁ śivapremapiṇḍaṁ bhajevakratuṇḍam||
Humble panamas to that lord Ganesha who shines forth showing a beautifully curved trunk the Vakrathunda
From whose face is oozing forth the fragrant flow of rut
Who is surrounded by huge throng of bees who have been attracted to Him by that fragrance
Who is moving his attractive trunk daintily from side to side
Who is the powerhouse of strength that is capable of protecting the whole universe
Who is equipped with spotlessly white and massively strong tusks of ivory
Who is hyperactive when it comes to the protection of his devotees from great dangers
Who is the solid embodiment of the deep love of Lord Shanakara, the Shiva
Shankara starts his Shiva Bhujanga prayata Stotram with this invocation to Lord Ganesha.
ഗലദ്ദാനഗണ്ഡം മിലദ്ഭൃങ്ഗഖണ്ഡം ചലച്ചാരുശുണ്ഡം
ജഗത്ത്രാണശൌണ്ഡം।
ലസദ്ദന്തകാണ്ഡം വിപദ്ഭങ്ഗചണ്ഡം ശിവപ്രേമപിണ്ഡം ഭജേ
വക്രതുണ്ഡം॥
ദേവരില് മുമ്പനായ ഗണേശന്, അഴകാര്ന്ന വളഞ്ഞ തുമ്പിക്കൈയോടെ വിളങ്ങുന്ന വക്രതുണ്ഡന് ആദ്യപ്രണാമം
അവിടുത്തെ തിരുമുഖത്തില് നിന്ന് സുഗന്ധം വഹിക്കുന്ന മദജലം ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രവഹിക്കുന്നു.
ആ സുഗന്ധത്തില് ആകൃഷ്ടരായ വണ്ടുകളുടെ എണ്ണിയാലോടുങ്ങാത്ത കൂട്ടം അവിടുത്തെ തിരു സന്നിധിക്ക് ചുറ്റും വട്ടമിട്ടു പറന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു ഇപ്പോഴും.
ഭഗവാന് ഉണ്ണി ഗണപതി തന്റെ തുമ്പിക്കൈ ഏറെ ഭംഗിയായി ഇടത്തോട്ടും വലത്തോട്ടും ആട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തെ മുഴുവന് ഇപ്പോഴും കാത്തു രക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ശക്തി സ്വയം ആവാഹിച്ചെടുത്ത ദൈവീകതയാണ് അവിടുന്ന്
വെട്ടിത്തിളങ്ങുന്ന തൂവെള്ള നിറത്തോടെ കാഠിന്യവും ഏറെ വലിപ്പവും ഉള്ള ദന്തങ്ങളുമായി അവിടുന്ന് ദര്ശനം നല്കുന്നു.
സ്വന്തം ഭക്തരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്ന സന്ദര്ഭങ്ങളില് അവിടുന്ന് അളവറ്റ ശക്ടിപ്രഭാവവും ചടുലതയും കാണിക്കുന്നു.
ഭഗവാന് ശിവന്റെ , ശങ്കരന്റെ , ഉല്ക്കടമായ സ്നേഹവായ്പ്പ് മുഴുവന് ഒരു മേനിയായി ഉരുത്തിരിഞ്ഞ ദിവ്യസാന്നിധ്യം ആണ് അവിടുന്ന്
ശങ്കരന് ശിവഭുജംഗപ്രയാതസ്തോത്രം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത് ഈ ശ്ലോകത്തോടെയാണ്.
