जातस्य नदीतीरे तस्यापि तृणस्य जन्मसाफल्यम्।
सलिलमज्जनाकुलजनहस्तावलम्बं भवति॥
पञ्चतन्त्रे
jātasya nadītīre tasyāpi tṛṇasya janmasāphalyam|
salilamajjanākulajanahastāvalambaṁ bhavati||

Indeed fortunate and accomplished are the lives of even shoots of grass that grow adjoining banks of rivers full of water. They would be of invaluable service to people who just clutch on them for survival when the river is in floods.
ജാതസ്യ നദീതീരേ തസ്യാപി തൃണസ്യ ജന്മസാഫല്യം।
സലിലമജ്ജനാകുലജനഹസ്താവലംബം ഭവതി॥
പഞ്ചതന്ത്രേ
പുഴയുടെ തീരത്ത് പുഴയില് ഒഴുകുന്ന വെള്ളത്തില് ഞാന്നു കിടന്നു വളരുന്ന പുല്ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം തീര്ച്ചയായും ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളതും ധന്യവും ആണ് . എന്തെന്നാല് പുഴ നിറഞ്ഞു കവിഞ്ഞു ഒഴുകുന്ന നേരത്ത് ആ വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കക്കത്തില് ഒളിച്ചു പോകാതെ ആളുകള്ക്ക് പിടിച്ചു നിന്ന് രക്ഷപ്പെടാന് കൈത്താങ്ങായി നില്ക്കാന് അവയ്ക്ക് കഴിയുമല്ലോ.
