mātṛpitṛkṛtābhyāso guṇitāmeti bālakaḥ|

na garbhacyutimātreṇ putro bhavati paṇḍitaḥ||

A boy, a youngster picks up proper manners and qualities that would enable him to do well in life through the meticulous and coninous training given by the father and mother and through observing the activities of the parents. No boy becomes an expert scholar the moment he emerged from the mother’s womb.
