Now, I enter into the highest Brahman, join the infinite

मातर्मेदिनि तात मारुत सखे ज्योतिः सुबन्धो जल

ब्रातर्व्योम निबद्ध एश भवतामन्त्यः प्रणामाञ्जलिः।

युष्मत्सङ्गवशोपजातसुकृतोद्रेक स्फुरन्निर्मल

ज्ञानापास्त समस्तमोहमहिमा लीये परे ब्रह्मणि॥

इन्दिश्चे स्प्रुचे २१६३ भर्तृहरेः

mātarmedini tāta māruta sakhe jyotiḥ subandho jala

brātarvyoma nibaddha eśa bhavatāmantyaḥ praṇāmāñjaliḥ|

yuṣmatsaṅgavaśopajātasukṛtodreka sphurannirmala

jñānāpāsta samastamohamahimā līye pare brhmaṇi|| indiśce spruce 2163 bhartjihereḥ

Oh my lovely mother Earth, my beloved father air, my bosom friend fire, my affectionate brother-in-law water, my own blood-brother Aether, for the last time (maybe I am finishing off my sojourn on the face of this earth) I reverently join my hands together in front of you . Now, I enter into the highest Brahman, join the infinite, all through the bounty and superabundance of good works which I have been enabled to perform only through association with you, through the association with you, a spotless knowledge shines forth within me, the knowledge that has enabled me to throw off the the darkness of ignorance and incapability, cured me of all errors and shown me the path of enlightenment.

The philosopher king Bhartruhari implies here that the life on this earth in the presence of five elements.. earth, fire, water, air and ether.. the building materials of all that is around including our body—(the five elements that are like our own close relatives, friends and associates)-- enables us to live, thrive, refine ourselves and clears our path for attaining blemishless enlightenment and helps us to attain the ultimate union with the Supreme brahman. We have to be thankful to the five elements for that great bounty.
