God has not created all the food for you and I alone

God has not created all the food on his earth so that you or I alone eat it fully all by ourselves.

There are loads of food and loads of people and beings that consume it.

In fact, all can eat to their tummies fill and still there will be a lot more left.

Moreover, the good lord never ceases to produce food. He manages to recycle even the muck into good food material.

In spite of that, we fight, we try to ensure that our neighbours starve even if that would force us too to face a famine.
I wonder, are we not making our God and Father desperate and helpless?

never think of the successful outcome of your action, nor expect any rewards from such action

kurvannevaiha karmāṇi jijīviṣeccchataṁ samā|
eṣa tvayi nānyatheto'sti na karma lipyate nare||
yajurveda 40-2 īśavāsya upaniśad 2

A very relevant advice contained in Yajurveda, which is reiterated in Isha Upanishad and reinforced by all spiritual text from Gita onwards.
---------------------------------
You should have desire to live for the full hundred years given to you. However, you spend that life performing noble deeds. Once you are born, you have no other option. In addition, never think of the successful outcome of your action, nor expect any rewards from such action. If you live that way, the effects of the karmas like papas and punya will never stick on to you.
------------------------------
Our existence with utter indifference to result, with keen dedication to the work on hand-- The Vedas underlined the idea, although Upanishads and Bhagavat Gita later developed this idea into the ultimate slogan or clarion call for good lifestyle.

Gita’s noble call
Meaning
Do your duty (in the best way possible) and never care much for the results, because you have control only over the deeds and not on the results
Do not become a fellow who waits anxiously for the results of your work, nor develop any propensity to be inactive.
The quotes and the comments may look very archaic since every person worth his salt reiterated the idea, and those who were successful actually lived by such dicta.
Nevertheless, they are worth remembering repeatedly as long as we live. The ideas are something like the water we drink or the air we breathe.

The truth concealed behind lustre of Gold...

the face of truth behind the golden facade

hiranmayena paatren satyasyaapihitam mukham
tattwam pooshan apaavrunu satyadharmaays dhrustaye

isavasyopanishat

The shining golden orb of the sun covers or conceals the face of the real truth behind the it, therefore, oh lord Pushan, the sun, remove that orb and reveal to me the eternal truth that is yourself as I am absolutely devoted to you the truth.

I am amazed at the wisdom of the Upanishads. A sloka without compare.
Our children who have gone through study in Kendriya vidyalay would have heard about this.

Another meaning of contemporary relevance in this mundane world (may be never thought of by the masters of the old)....the real truth is often concealed by the orb of gold, that is money power, only if the influence of gold, the influence of physical wealth is removed, we will be able to have an inkling of real truth, which is neither golden nor silver but only absolute without any distortion

my dear friends I am for once stepping into the realms of the loftiest thoughts of our Bharathabhoomi and I fully know that the bashyakaras and oriental and occidental scholars have stood motionless with baffled minds before these gems.
Who am I to interpret ?
My humble apologies to my elite friends...
I have only stated what my limited mind could grasp...
the path of Shankara,Ramanjua, Madhwa, or Vyasa is entirely beyond me .
Once again apologies.
