the learned person should understand the limits of human existence..

Confronted with the tragic situation where one’s father, son or a bosom friends has succumbed to death, a man wails beating his stomach.. and the poet says such a person who cries beating the breast is foolish. According to the poet, in this world of uncertainty, the learned person should understand the limits of human existence.. the uncertain timings for arrival and departure.. and such departures should be utilized as occasions for a learned person to fortify his sense of stoic detachment and his discerning capacity to accept the inevitable..
Of course, we have to accept life .. we can do that wailing or in a mor balanced way. That is our choice.

The rooster is near us, useful to us, and too familiar to us and we have developed liking for it.

When a cat hunts and eats a rooster growing in the household, we feel the sense of loss and grief far more intensely that when the same cat hunts down a sparrow or chases and dines on a mouse. The reason is simple.. The rooster is near us, useful to us, and too familiar to us and we have developed liking for it.
