Meaning of the subhashitam
While performing tasks, one should behave like a person who makes garland of flowers.. he collects flowers from the garden one by one, but would never cut off the roots of the plants that makes the flowers bloom day after day.
One should not behave destructively like the person who cuts the woods, and burns them to make charcoal..
The message is very relevant.. No living being can exist without depending on the resources of another being.. The life cycle of nature is crafted like that. However, if care is taken to ensure that the resources are taken away causing minimum damage to the source and at the same time affording some opportunity for it to regenerate, then the balance of the system would be kept in tact..
The resources are like capital invested.. We should never eat on, or destroy the capital.. We should use only the revenue earned.
പുഷ്പം പുഷ്പം വിചിന്വീത മൂലച്ഛേദം ന കാരയേത്।
മാലാകാര ഇവാരാമേ ന യഥാങ്ഗരകാരകഃ॥
വിദുരനീത്യാം മഹാഭാരതേ ൫-൩൪-൧൮
വിദുരനീതിയില്‍ നിന്നുമുള്ള ഏറെ പ്രസക്തമായ ഒരു ഉപദേശം ആണിത്.
ഉപകാരപ്രദമായ ഒരു വസ്തു ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നാം ഒരിക്കലും ആ വസ്തുവിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം തന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ നോക്കരുത്.
പൂക്കാരന്‍ പൂന്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പൂക്കള്‍ ഓരോന്നായി പറിച്ചെടുത്ത് മാല കെട്ടുന്നു.. പക്ഷെ അയാള്‍ ഒരിക്കലും പൂച്ചെടി വേരോടെ പിഴുതെടുക്കുകയില്ല.
ഇതുപോലെയാവണം നാം കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നത്
അല്ലാതെ വിറകു ചുട്ടു കരിയാക്കി വില്‍ക്കുന്ന ആള്‍ മരങ്ങള്‍ വെട്ടിനിരതുന്നതുപോലെ ആവരുത് നമ്മുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍
ഓര്‍ക്കുക .. പൂവ് പറിച്ചാലും ചെടി ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ വീണ്ടു പൂക്കും. പക്ഷെ മരം കടയില്‍ത്തന്നെ വെട്ടിയാല്‍ പിന്നെ ഒന്നും ബാക്കി ഉണ്ടാവില്ല
ഇത് സാമ്പത്തിക ശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും പ്രസക്തമാണ്.. മൂലധനം നശിപ്പിക്കരുത്. ആദായം മാത്രം ചിലവാക്കണം.
