To live for one's principles or live one's principle is just like selecting a very difficult path for journey when one is aware of easier and more comfortable routes..
Such difficult journey should be undertaken only for the happiness and pride that such journey might provide,,
However, the results and destination can be as bad as when we take the easy route..
Character is the other name for principle..
Life is not to be measured just in what one achieved and saved.
Life's value can be seen in the way it is lived.. every moment..
What we achieve or hoard may be there for some time but then vanish and become insignificant
But the path we travelled.. if it was a pioneering path, would be remembered for ever.
