अलसस्य कुतो विद्या अविद्यस्य कुतो धनम्।
अधनस्य कुतो मित्रं अमित्रस्य कुतो सुखम्॥
॥सुभाषितम्॥
alasasya kuto vidyā avidyasya kuto dhanam|
adhanasya kuto mitraṁ amitrasya kuto sukhaṁ||

അലസസ്യ കുതോ വിദ്യാ അവിദ്യസ്യ കുതോ ധനം
അധനസ്യ കുതോ മിത്രം അമിത്രസ്യ കുതഃ സുഖം
Knowledge and efficiency will not visit the lazy person.
A person without education can hardly ever be affluent
A man without money does not gain many friends
and
Is there any happiness in this world without friends?
சோம்பேறிக்கு எப்படி படிப்பு வரும்? படிப்பில்லாம் செல்வம் எங்கே ? பணம் இல்லாதவனுக்கு நண்பர்கள் கிடைப்பாரா ? நண்பர்கள் இல்லாதவனுக்கு சுகம் இருக்குமா ?
